Basque spies. Since the medieval age until nowadays, Basque people have carried out a lot of secret operations: two centuries ago, as agents in the cortes in Madrid and Paris; a hundred of years ago, working for the Basque Country and later for Washington, the 3rd Reich or the Communist International. Some of their operations even saved an Empire, others were not anything else but an anecdote. These operations were carried out by anonymous agents but also by renowned characters, such as Aguirre; the Basque President, Aviraneta, Manuel Aznar, Zumalakarregi or Joseba Elosegi and also by unfairly forgotten women: Marga dÁndurain, Ramona Arregui or Delia Lauroba. These tasks took place in the Basque Country, the Colombian jungle, the Siria desert, Wake island or the Cold War setting in Belgrado. Passages of a controversial history, which has been unknown until now are shown in this book that studies for the first time Basque people´s relationship with the spy world in a global way.
