The Pope Alejandro VI decides that after Juan Borgia´s murder , the second of his sons, it is his first born son; César, who wears the cardinal habit and substitutes his brother as the Captain of the Papal Armies. César accepts and fights to conquer the Church States; governed by dictators. His different victories, make him become a hero but, at the same time of his conquests, his enemies also increase. His own captains lay him a trap in which César clearly shows the qualities he has always shown before: cleverness and cold blood. When he is about to reach the glory, misfortune crosses in his way in the shape of poison. Ill and completely ruined, he is imprisoned and sent to Spain. A strange escape from the tower of Mota makes him free again and he escapes to Pamplona. It is there where his brother in law, the king of Navarre, is waiting for him and also what he most fears in life: his fate.
