The story that Urtzi Urrutikoetxea has summarized, prepared and translated into Basque for this book is the national epic of Kurdish people. Like in Shakespeare's well-known play Romeo and Juliet, the book tells us the tragedy of the love between two youths coming from different social classes. The story of Mem’s and Zin’s love brings us closer to the reality of Kurdish society and of Middle East at that time. The fights between leaders, the rebellion against denial and the love for the language bring us the echo of our own land and language.
