MATXINADA is a journey through the most recent history of the Basque young movement. Firstly published in Ireland, it became the first work in which the different expressions and organizations to which the author referred as "the contemporary Basque radical young movements" were described. He claimed the use of the term "radical" in opposition to the partial efforts and unenthusiastic answers and he underlined the active role of the young people in the Basque Country in a European context where the young people are kept away from the decision circles. This work arose because of the interest and curiosity created in the Irish author by the level of implication and participation of the youngest groups in the long and hard fighting process for the equality, social justice and the Basque Country independence for the last 30 years.
