"The X second" has stopped the time in the imaginary state created by the author for this novel. People, cars ... all remain inert in a picture that might well be infinite. However, in this dead space, the main character, a watchmaker, walks around like a little god. With a political and especially personal past which besiege him, he will turn his thoughts to settle old debts before leaving town. Nevertheless, he bump into a little girl first, and then into a mysterious man, which will totally change the meaning of his solitary flight. Both of them, deliberately or unintentionally, will test the moral convictions of the watchmaker, who will see that little by little his time, despite being stopped, is running out. This Serrano’s second novel is an effort almost unprecedented in our literature. Through a personal combination of literature variables, the author has clearly chosen a literature of ideas that will not leave the reader impassive.
