On August 24, 1994, thousands of Uruguayans were gathered at the gates of the hospital Filtro of Montevideo to show solidarity with Josu Goitia, Luis Mari Lizarralde and Mikel Ibáñez, Basque prisoners in hunger and thirst strike, who were claimed by the Spanish State. The protest was also done to ask to maintain the secular tradition of asylum in Uruguay. Unfortunately, once again, the interests of the States imposed on the solidarity of the people: the brutal repression by the police left the streets of Montevideo in a total of two murdered and a hundred of serious injured. Today, fifteen years after, the events of the Filtro are still an open wound in Uruguayan politics and, in turn, a source of pride for its people and joy to the Basque people. That is, an eternal moment of tenderness between two people. The book is accompanied by a DVD with a report on the facts. It includes images of the events of the Filtro, with interviews to people who lived the events.
