Dojnaa is the name of the main character in this novel. She is a nomad girl of the Tuwa tribe. She does not have a mother and is the daughter of a hunter who is called "elephant" because of his height. She is like him as well: a hunter, tall and strong. Because of family pressures, she is obliged to get married to a boy from a neighbour tribe and; that way, they will start a tumultuous relationship. Throughout her story, we will go into the daily life of the Tuwa tribe, the relationship between men and women, violence, sexuality, the harshness of their lifestyle, parties and so on. Dojnaa is not anything but the reflection of the Tuwa tribe, which devote their time mainly to hunting and ranching; where " chamanism" is deeply rooted. It is a country which fights for freedom, the survival of their ancient traditions and their lifestyle with fortitude and tenacity.
