Paul Auster ( New Jersey,1947). When he was a student he moved to Paris and started to translate French literature. Once he was there, he began to instruct himself as a translator, a cinema scriptwriter and a writer without too much success in the decade of the 70-s. in the 80-s, he started to publish his works: El arte del hambre, 1982 ( The art of hunger,1982) and little by little he became famous among the North American writers. At that time, he wrote the famous book La trilogía de Nueva York (1985-1986), ( The New York trilogy, 1985-1986) and El palacio de la luna, 1989; ( The palace of the moon,1989). In the 90-s, he went on his way towards success writing Tombuctú, 1997 and already a very famous writer, he approached the cinema world writing the following scripts: Smoke(1995), or Blue in the face (1995). He directed the film Lulu on the bridge (1998). thanks to his peculiar literary style, he has been awarded different awards.
