Floren Aoiz ( Tafalla, 1966).Sensitized with the country situation since he was very young, he learnt the Basque language and took part in the youth and student movements actively.He was a foral member of parliament for Herri Batasuna from 1987 to 1997. Elected as a member of the leadership of this political party, he was one of its spokesmen. In 1997, he was convicted, together with his partners of the National Board to seven years imprisonment for trying to transmit a video in which ETA showed the Basque society its peace proposal. In July 2000, he went out of prison when the sentence was revoked by decision of the Spanish Constitutional Court. A confirmed reader and very keen on the Basque Country history; nowadays he is a columnist in the Gara newspaper and is preparing different works about the past of our country. The old wound is his first essay of historical subject and Txalaparta will publish Agian -his novel in the Basque language- in the next months, which is set in Navarre conquest by the Spanish troops.
