Gioconda Belli (Managua1948) is one of the most known Central America writers. She published her first poems in 1970. That very year, she integrated herself in the National Liberation Sandinist Front; a clandestine organization those days to overthrow the somocist dictatorship. In 1972, her poems book On the Bermuda grass was awarded and different rewards; such as the Americas house prize, followed that one in 1978 for Fire line. Pursued by the somocist police, she lived in exile in Mexico and Costa Rica. With the triumph of the Sandinist Revolution she went back to Nicaragua, where she carried out diplomatic works for the revolutionary government and she published Thunders and rainbow and Adan´s rib. In 1998, she published her first novel,The invaded woman, published by Txalaparta and translated into different languages. It was a great publishing success. Sofía of the premonitions followed that first novel and it was also published by this publishing house. Later, she published Waslala.
