Aitor Arana Luzuriaga was born in Legazpi, in 1963. He started writing at seventeen, and since then he has published over eleven books. He has a productive career in the fields of storytelling, children's and youth literature, lexicography, novels for adults and translation. He has especially worked on children's literature, where he has published many books such as Loaren bidez (1990), Urtegi misteriotsua (1994), Gaueko ortzadarra (1997) and Irunberriko sorginak (2003). Some of his creations are Ipuin lizunak (1994), Haize gorria (1999), Onan (2000), Ipuin-entzulea (2000) and Historia lazgarria (2002). He has received several prizes, including Bilintx, Baporea, Azkue and Txomin Agirre award. He knows in depth the work of Oscar Wilde, he has translated several works by the Irish writer, and moreover, he was awarded the Irun Hiria, thanks to the book Oscar eta Sebastian, a fictionalized biography of Oscar Wilde.
