Pako Aristi was born in Urrestilla in 1963. With a degree in Journalism, his works, articles, opinion pieces and reporting have been published in a wide number of newspapers and magazines. His work won got the recognition of the Rikardo Arregi Journalism Prize en 1992 and 1993. He has published more than 20 books in fields as diverse as essays, stories, children's literature and poetry. He is the author, among others, of the essay Euskal kantagintza berria, of the novels Kcappio, Irene, Krisalida and Urregilearen orduak, of the poetry books Castletown and Oherako hitzak, and of the narrations Auto-Stopeko ipuinak and Iraileko ipuin eta poemak. In the last two years he has offered, with the singer-songwriter Mikel Markez, the performance Tribuaren hitz galduak.
